Your Ceremony to Suit You

Planning your wedding is an exciting journey, and one of the most meaningful decisions you’ll make is how to celebrate your love. As a celebrant, my role is to create a ceremony that truly reflects your unique story, values, and personalities. Whether you dream of a traditional celebration or something completely out-of-the-box, there’s a perfect wedding style for every couple.
Below are just a few of the different types of wedding ceremonies I can officiate, so you can find the one that speaks to you. From intimate elopements to grand celebrations, there’s a wide variety of ways to say “I do.”
The important thing to remember, is that these are just guides, I am happy to plan your wedding to your ideas and dreams. No matter how simple or extravagant, tell me the pictures that are in your mind when you think of your day and I will do my absolute best to make it happen, after all, it is your day.
Obviously there may be some things that may be harder to achieve, but by working together we can figure out what can be achieved and tweak the things that can’t to make them possible.
I am excited about the opportunity to play a part in your special day.
A Guide to Types of Wedding Ceremonies I Can Perform
- Symbolic Ceremony – This is a non-legal ceremony that reflects your love story and commitment, allowing complete freedom to create something personal and meaningful. While it isn’t legally binding, you can take care of the legalities beforehand at the registry office and save the full celebration for your ceremony with me or do your legal part later at a time to suit you.
- Religious-Inspired Ceremony For couples who want to incorporate religious or spiritual elements into their ceremony without following the formal structure of a church service. I can help blend traditions or symbols from different faiths or spiritual practices to make your day meaningful to you both.
- Themed Ceremony Bring your personalities to life with a themed wedding! Whether you want to recreate a specific era, take inspiration from your favorite movie or book, or go with a style like rustic or bohemian, I can tailor the ceremony to fit your vision. I am even willing to dress to suit your theme!
- Elopement Ceremony If you’re looking for an intimate, no-fuss ceremony, an elopement might be the perfect choice. While it won’t cover the legalities, you’ll be free to create a meaningful, private celebration in a setting that’s special to you.
- Destination Ceremony Dreaming of exchanging vows on a beach, in a vineyard, or in a historic city abroad? A destination ceremony is a beautiful way to combine your wedding with an adventure. the great thing is, there are no licenses required so we can perform your ceremony anywhere (within safety restrictions) Just remember, you’ll need to handle the legal registration either before or after at home.
- Vow Renewal Ceremony Reaffirm your love and commitment with a vow renewal. Whether you’re marking a milestone anniversary or simply want to celebrate your journey together, I can help create a ceremony that reflects the bond you’ve built over time.
- Cultural Ceremony Honor your cultural heritage with a wedding ceremony that incorporates important rituals, attire, and customs. I can work with you to include any traditions that are meaningful to you, while also personalizing the ceremony to your tastes.

A Note on Legal Requirements:
While I can officiate beautiful, personalized ceremonies, it’s important to remember that you’ll still need to visit a registrar to complete the legal paperwork. Many couples choose to handle the legal aspect separately before or after their celebrant-led ceremony, allowing more flexibility to design a day that truly represents them.

Traditional Wedding Ceremony
One of the biggest advantages of a celebrant-led ceremony is that you’re not restricted to certain licensed venues, like you would be with a civil ceremony. You can get married virtually anywhere: on a beach, in a forest, atop a mountain, in your backyard, or even at a place with personal significance to you both. A celebrant brings the ceremony to you, whether it’s a remote, scenic spot or a quirky, offbeat venue.

Hand Fasting
A handfasting ceremony is a lovely way to create a meaningful, intimate moment during your wedding, and it’s a tradition that has stood the test of time because of its deep symbolism. Whether you’re looking to honor your heritage or simply want a unique addition to your ceremony, handfasting offers a powerful, personal way to celebrate your union.

Involving Your Loved Ones
Blended families are becoming more common, and finding ways to include children or step-family members in a wedding ceremony can make the day even more special and meaningful. One beautiful way to symbolize the union of not only the couple but also their families is through rituals like a sand ceremony. This type of ceremony highlights the blending of individual lives into one family unit and can be a deeply emotional moment.
